Clones Film Festival

Clones Film Festival shows non commercial films to a local audience that would normally find such films inaccessible. A core part of the festival has been to provide a platform for film-makers.

The festival usually runs on the October Bank Holiday in a specially constructed cinema in the Lennard Arms Hotel, Clones, The Cinemobile, The Courthouse and other smaller screens.

The programme consists of 4/5 screening slots per day. This includes full-length features, shorts, animation, workshops by film professionals and talks. Our programme includes educational, animation and film workshops for schools.

The Festival will also continue to engage film practitioners involved in all aspects of film. Our target audience is as diverse as the films we show.

The Festival is organised by an eight member voluntary committee. We are mentored by Monaghan Arts Office and we evaluate our programming by monitoring audience numbers and carrying out audience surveys.

Radio Butty at the Flat Lake

The Flat Lake festival is a sumptuous weekend of creativity set in the glorious Hilton Park Estate, Scotshouse. It offers just about everything including film screenings, theatrical debuts, literary and historical talks, heated debate, poetry recitals, eccentric discourse, children’s entertainment, sticks of rock, campfire camraderie and delicious food and drink. If you're able to, pitching your tent for the whole weekend really is the way to go. Just drive in, whack your tent up and enjoy... no need to throw a wobbler about whose going to drive home ... and there's no better place to wake up under canvas... great breakfasts are available on site, take a walk in the grounds of Johnny and Lucy Madden's magnificent home, relax and get ready for another day of spectacular entertainment.  And for Christ's sake BRING YOUR KIDS...this is a paradise for the pups ..... if they're under 12 they get in free.
